General Visitation in Vicariate Uganda

The

The General Visitation in the Vicariate Uganda takes place in a Jubilee year as the Vicariate celebrates 25 years of the arrival of the first sisters in Uganda. The opening of the Jubilee is on 15 February 2018, the death anniversary of our Founder Fr. Theodosius Florentini.  In these 25 years the vicariate is grown in number of its members and in the number of communities and apostolates. The mission is also successfully expanded to the neighboring country, Kenia. At present the Vicariate has 52 sisters, 18 Novices, 13 Postulants and 14 Candidates in 7 communities.

The Vicariate House is in Namugongo, where the Uganda Martyrs shrine is erected. This is one of the largest Christian Pilgrimage destinations in Africa dedicated to 22 Martyrs. These Martyrs have given their life as witness for their faithfulness to Jesus Christ.

The General Visitation will take place from 12 February to 24 March 2018. Sr. Marija Brizar and Sr. Sheeja Kolacherril will accompany the sisters with the theme of the visitation “Developing our community as a spiritual place.” General Visitation is a time to meet sisters personally, to get to know how the charism of our Congregation is kept alive in the communities and in the apostolate.
