Today, in Altötting, Germany, the General Chapter of the Sisters of Mercy of the Holy Cross, under the chairmanship of Br. Marinus Parzinger OFMCap, has elected the General Superior and the six General Councilors.
As General Superior was elected:
Sr. Marie-Marthe Schönenberger, 1959, Switzerland, Swiss Province
For a first term of office of six years she will bear the main responsibility for the Congregation. She will carry out her task, together with an international team, composed of the previous General Councilors:
Sr. Dorothee Halbach, Province Baden-Württemberg
Sr. Sheeja Kolacherril, Province South India
and the newly elected Councilors:
Sr. Gabriele Schachinger, Province Mid Europe
Sr. Rahela Lacković,, Province Croatia.
Sr. Roseline Kujur, Province India Central
Sr. Pratima Minj, Province India North East
From among the six General Councilors was elected as General Assistant:
Sr. Gabriele Schachinger
