Visitation in the two communities in Ɖakovica, 15 to 17 April 2024

The sisters have been working in the hospital since 1963. One sister works as a nurse on hemodialysis, while the second sister is involved in pastoral care for the sick. In addition to their work in the hospital, the sisters support the local population through various medical services. The sisters often help people from the neighboring villages.

Since 1964, our sisters have been supporting the Province Bosna Srebrna of the Franciscans. This parish has the highest number of Catholics in Kosovo. The sisters are involved in the apostolate of the shrine of St. Anthony of Padua, in the main parish of St. Peter and Paul and in various outstations. Their work includes catechesis, sacristy services, youth ministry, church singing and support with devotional objects. One sister serves the Fathers and her fellow sisters with her culinary skills.

For the people of Kosovo, St. Anthony of Padua and St. Teresa of Kolkata are their national saints. We were impressed by the solemn church service in honour of St. Anthony and the many pilgrims, with non-Christians also highly venerating the two saints.
