Visitation in Guanshan 28.02. – 01.03.2024

In 1963, the Vicariate in Guanshan opened a community with a pharmacy and an infirmary, which was soon expanded into a small hospital. Due to changing laws and a lack of doctors, the building was converted into a nursing home in 1990. The people and the government appreciate the service, as it is the only home of its kind in the region. Most of the residents come from very poor areas in the remote mountain villages, who can no longer be cared for at home or no longer have any relatives.

The 05 sisters in the community work in the home: Sr. Marga Geiger still works in administration and bookkeeping, Sr. Marie-Christine Lauber is the caretaker for everything in and around the house; Sr. Dee Lan Gau also works in administration and is involved in the parish. Sr. Petra Maria Strobl is the nursing directress; Sr. Franzi Lin has worked as a physiotherapist in the home for many years and is still in the rehabilitation phase after her illness.

The home is managed by Mrs. Wang Fong Hsien, who belongs to the group of co-members.
