The Provincial House Community in Siliguri

The Provincial house community in Siliguri was our last stop on this visitation journey. There are 12 sisters living in the community. We were able to experience Franciscan hospitality on our repeated arrivals and departures. This community is the centre of the Province. The sisters of the Provincial Leadership take care of the various administrative areas, the concerns of the sisters and the institutions they run. The sisters from the various communities like to come to Siliguri for shopping, as there is a wider range of products and the prices are lower. They also enjoy the Franciscan hospitality in the Provincial house.

In this house, there is an Alternative Therapy Center, run by Sr. Ann Thomas. The basic concept of this Therapy is “Transmission of Homeo Drug Energy from a Distance using Hair as a medium.” The person can be staying anywhere, as distance is not a barrier. Any sickness, acute or chronic can be treated by this method.

For the first time after two years, due to Corona virus, the community was able to take a trip to the nearby town of Mirik, which is a beautiful tourist resort with its lakes and various entertainment options. We gratefully returned to Siliguri in the late afternoon to continue our discussions.
