The residential and care home in Wels “ Bruderliebe” (Brotherly Love) is located in the centre of the trade fair city. It was renovated and modernised to the latest standards between 2004 and 2007. A large, well maintained garden and the park enable the sisters and residents to move around, take walks and relax in the fresh air.
The name comes from an association that was founded in 1861 and called ‘Bruderliebe’. At that time, this association took care of poor servants and looked after people who had little income. In 1861, the first Holy Cross Sisters came to Wels, Bruderliebe. In 1920, the house was given to the Holy Cross Sisters as their own property.
There are now 14 sisters living in the community.
