SAN DAMIANO UND RIVOTORTO
San Damiano is of great importance to both Clara and Francis. It is the place where Francis in a special way connected himself with God and prayer and experienced his vocation in life. Before the cross of San Damiano he had a profound experience of God.
CARCERI
The hermitage Carceri (desert / dungeon) is located in the mountains of Mount Subasio (800 m) und is 4 km from the city of Assisi.
Francis, from his deepest being, tended to silent prayer and deep communion with God.
Francis regularly visited hermitages.
Francis first came to this hermitage in 1205 to pray in order to get clarity for his life.
All Formators of the Congress could make deep and personal experiences at these two special places.
