It is now 65 years since the sisters are striving to make education and schooling possible for children and young people for the improvement of the social situation of the population. The active collaboration in the life of the parish, such as leading the parish choir, catechesis and pastoral visits in the families are an essential contribution of the twelve sisters of the place.
Prabhat Tara School has developed into a big school and is known for its quality education which is also recognized by the State. There are 3000 students in the school, starting with Montessori / Kindergarten up to class 12. Nine sisters are full-time in this work. Sensitization for ecology, and care of the environment is a special concern for them. In addition, this school is a center for non-formal education – i.e. for children who do not go for regular schooling, or who are so-called school ‘drop-outs‘.
