In Styria, the Province Europa Mitte has a community in Rein. In 1870 Mother Maria Theresia herself visited this place and recognizing the need, she opened this community and named it “St. Josefsheim” . Presently there are 8 sisters of different age groups, sick and healthy, active and sisters who require rest. They have spent the major part of their life in Active service in the administration, leadership, in schools and parishes. The community is connected very much with the old age cum nursing home with 25 inmates. Two of our sisters are taken care of in this home. One young nurse sister serves as the Nursing home animator in Rein and in Graz.
The sisters engage in various activities like animating the community, maintaining the Chronicle and arranging animation for the inmates in the nursing home. The Cistercian Monks in the proximity are considerate to the sisters.
The community is rather well integrated. They are concerned about each others needs and give mutual support. The sisters are lively with open sharing of their past experiences, discussions and spending considerable time in prayer and occasional visits to the inmates.
