Rebro in Zagreb, 22 to 24 April 2024

In 1942, the university hospital centre was opened on the Rebar (Rebro) hill in Zagreb, where our sisters came on the recommendation of Blessed Cardinal Alojzije Stepi-nac. About 150 sisters took over the work in the hospital (Rebro). Today, only two sisters still work in the hospital: the matron in the paediatric haematology and oncology department and the second sister in the ear clinic and operating theatre.

Another four sisters live in the community. One sister is a lecturer at the Jesuit Theological University FTI and looks after the secretariat of the Croatian Conference of Religious Organisations, while another sister is studying theology at the same university. The fifth sister in this community is the sacristan of the parish church of St Barbara, which belongs to the hospital, and also works closely with a designer who makes handicrafts. The eldest sister, a former nurse, helps in the household and does sewing work for the entire Croatian Province.
