Our sisters have been working in Prague since 1990, initially at the ‘Na Františku’ Hospital and, since 2010, at the Hospital of the Sisters of Mercy of St Charles Borromeo below Petřín Hill. One sister works as a nurse in the rehabilitation ward and another as a doctor in the internal medicine ward. The sisters not only care for the physical health of the sick, but also accompany them in the final stages of their lives.
Another sister works as a prison chaplain and as a field worker for the Magdala counselling centre. Together with a small team, she strives to be a ray of hope for many young women and people who have lost their dignity in a city of 1.2 million inhabitants.
With great love and dedication, one sister works as a nurse in the Salvation Army’s outpatient clinic for the homeless.
The Superior of the convent looks after the needs of the community, manages the household and has an open heart for the needy people who knock at the door.
The sisters live in two small flats in the parish house of the Holy Cross Fathers on Biskupska Street.
