On Pentecost Sunday, during the large thanksgiving Mass with Diocesan Bishop Dom Antonio Tourinho Neto, we were impressed by the strong bond with the sisters and the great appreciation they receive. In his sermon, the bishop expressed his hope that young women would join the Holy Cross Sisters in order to continue the charisma of love and compassion of our congregation.
People look back with gratitude on the life and work of our sisters. Many parishioners helped with the preparations for the parish feast, which took place in the local sports hall after the festive Pentecost Mass. The focus was on the life of Mother Maria Theresia on the occasion of her 200th birthday. We were deeply moved by this spiritual celebration of gratitude. The local parish sectors presented the life and work of M. M. Theresia in many different ways. Repeated requests were made that the sisters be allowed to remain in Mangabeira for a long time to come.
