MANJHATOLI, ASHA NIWAS

Five sisters and four candidates live in the community. The main purpose of establishing the community was to run a rehabilitation center for rescued girls who had been victims of human trafficking. Many girls from Gumla and neighboring districts were brought to the big cities with the promise of jobs. The aim of the center is to bring these girls to safety and reunite them with their families. They are given vocational training so that they can earn their own living and be reintegrated into society.

The sisters organize computer courses as well as sewing, knitting, and candle-making courses for girls from the surrounding area. The sisters carry out numerous awareness programs in villages and schools to sensitize the population to migration and human trafficking. One sister works at the diocesan school.
