Jeevdhara Social Service Centre, Lodipur

Jeevdhara Social Service Centre was established on March 3, 2000 in Sherpur village, Maner Block, Patna district, Bihar, on the same premises as the novitiate house. The village is densely populated with marginalised Dalits, Mahadalits and Musahars, many of whom have lost their homes and land due to the floods and now earn their livelihood as day labourers in brick kilns, sand mining and agricultural fields. Recognising the urgent need for social intervention, the sisters are committed to providing quality education for poor and Dalit children, socio-economic empowerment for women and adolescent girls and training for youth. The Jeevdhara Social Service Centre serves twenty villages in the Maner and Bihita blocks, with a focus on twelve Mahadalit communities. In 2014, the centre expanded its activities to the Musahar community and offers housing programmes for women and children.

The new community in Lodipur was opened on 2 February 2020. Currently, there are three sisters involved in social activities at Jeevdhara Social Service Centre. There are 57 girls in the residential centre.
