Community in Jaria

Jaria lies in the North Eastern corner of the state of Chhattisgarh. People live in poor conditions, The community is situated in the tribal belt, majority of them are Christians. Their living condition is poor. Most of them depend on daily wages and agriculture.

Girls Middle school from class 6th to 8th was opened in July 1973. The main purpose was to educate girls till Middle School and send them to Gholeng for Higher Education. The sisters and the parrish priests have a very good contact and work intensivly together.

Regarding the actual political situation, the sisters have only reduced possibility for house visits. But they are optimistic that this is only a temperorarly break.

The 27th November was an official Indian Celebration Day, so that the schools were closed. So there was enough time for sharing during this day.
