Holy Cross Convent, Jeevan Deep

In 1995, the Sisters founded  St. Michael’s School for the Hearing Impaired children in Hazaribag. They were deeply committed to promoting the rights of children with disabilities and supporting their rehabilitation.

In the beginning, the Sisters who taught at this school lived in the Provincial House. Ten years later, they founded the Jeevan Deep community on the campus next to the school. Today, five Sisters live in the community. They all work in the school and run the boarding school for 120 pupils.

The school, with approximately 200 pupils, has now grown to 10th grade, and a new school building was constructed in 2021. In order to offer the pupils more opportunities and experiences for learning, various activities are organised for them, including excursions, dancing, crafts, etc.
