At the request of Tata Iron and Steel Company (TISCO), the sisters have been running Holy Cross School since 1983. Currently, around 1,800 students from kindergarten up to the 10+2 level attend the school. Most of the students’ parents work for TATA directly on site.
Ghatotand is located in a coal mining area. TATA not only mines the coal, but also takes care of the restoration and reconstruction of the areas. Visiting two parks was a great experience.
The school places great emphasis on independence and cooperation. All students are involved in at least one club, such as the Mother Maria Theresia Club, the Sports Club or the Social Club. They are always supported by a team of teachers.
To mark the 200th birth anniversary of our blessed Mother Maria Theresia Scherer, the school made a film about her life and work. At the school event to welcome the Superior General, several scenes were shown, which were met with loud applause from those present.
