Holy Cross Convent Dulabita

Dulabita was initially part of Belatanr Parish before it was separated and became a distinct Parish in 1982. The area has a relatively high literacy rate, thanks to the earlier efforts of Protestant missionaries who worked in the area until they discontinued their work. As a result, people in Dulabita place a significant value on education. However, the land is drought-prone and lacks irrigation facilities, which can make farming challenging. To address this issue, the Diocese has introduced a watershed program. Interestingly, superstition plays a significant role in the lives of the people here, and despite this, the number of Catholics in the area is increasing.

The community was founded in 1983 with the purpose of providing education, promoting health and healing ministry, fostering human dignity, and socially uplifting the tribals of the area. Additionally, empowering women was another important purpose.

There are four sisters in the community, two sisters are teaching in the Diocesan School, one sister is engaged in pastoral care and one sister is taking care of the house, small farm and garden. There are 35 children in the hostel. The children are given a very good care.
