General Visitation in the Province of India North-East from Sep 18 – Nov 7, 2015

Sister Marija Brizar, General Superior and the General Councilors, Sr. Elsit Ampattu, Sr. Sheeja Kolacheril, Sr. Anna Affolter, Sr. Lucila Zovak and Sr. Dorothee Halbach are in different parts of the province journeying on their way to different communities. It is one of the most privileged tasks of the general leadership to get to know every Sister and every community of the province as well as to hear and share their joys and sorrows. It is of great importance, moreover, to experience the various places and areas of activity in the respective socio-cultural, political and religious context.

In the North-East Province of India, there are at present 355 Sisters in 50 communities.

This year, the theme of the visitation is entirely in-keeping with the motto of the jubilee of the Congregation celebrating the 150th death anniversary of Father Theodosius Florentini: „Journeying on the Roads of the World“.

The purpose of every visitation is to know the sisters through dialog and in the various encounters, to become more deeply aware of their everyday life and the environment. Wherever possible, the Sisters will be met at their places of work.

Visitations take place every six years, as an expression of unity in diversity in a concrete way.
