GENERAL VISITATION IN THE PROVINCE OF CROATIA

The General Visitation will take place in the Province of Croatia from 02 April to 05 May 2024. Sr. Marie-Marthe, Superior General and three General Councillors: Sr. Dorothee Halbach, Sr. Roseline Kujur and Sr. Rahela Lacković will carry out the visitation in 31 communities. There are at present 264 sisters.

The Province of Croatia was founded in 1868 and today it extends over several countries – Croatia, Serbia, Kosovo and Montenegro. The different social, political, ecclesiastical and economic situations of the countries characterize the lives of the sisters and the people.

In the spirit of the founders, Father Theodosius and Mother Maria Theresa, the sisters are involved in various apostolates: from the education and upbringing of small children in kindergarten to young people in school; from pastoral work with children, young people and adults to helping the poor and people on the margins; from church music to working directly in the church and sacristy; from caring for the sick in hospitals to serving the elderly in retirement homes and day care centres. The openness of the Province is also reflected in their commitment to the mission. Special projects and focal points are also: pastoral care for tourists, pastoral care for vocations and work with the Franciscan movement “Frama”.
