Foundation of the Province of Mid-India on September 14th, 2015

With great joy, in a festal atmosphere and in the presence of many guests, our Indian fellow Sisters celebrated the official beginning of their new province “Mid-India” on September 14th, 2015.

Sister Marija Brizar, General Superior, along with two Indian General Councilors, Sisters Elsit Ampattu and Sheeja Kolacheril, flew to Raipur already on September 9th to take part in the inauguration of the future Centre of the new province.

Sister Georgina Nadukudiyil as the new Provincial Superior, together with her councilors, will lead and accompany the new Province Mid-India.

In this newly founded province, there will now be 174 Sisters of the province that had previously been part of the Province Central India.

The fact of the large distances in the Province Central India had led to the needed and sensible division of the Province.

There are now four provinces to the Congregation in India. Our hearty congratulations to this decisive step! We pray for God’s abundant blessings on the beginning and the future way of this new Province!
