At the beginning of the General Chapter on 3 August, the Chapter Members gathered in the garden of the Franziskushaus in Altötting in front of our Congregational flag. After the singing of the Congregational Hymn “Sisters of Mercy of the Holy Cross” and a short address by our Superior General Sister Marija Brizar, the General Chapter was liturgically inaugurated with the Eucharistic celebration.
The formal beginning of the 23rd General Chapter took place during the first common session in the afternoon. The General Chapter is to be seen as a spiritual process. The future of the Congregation stands in the power of the Holy Spirit.
