Convent Community, Hall

Convent Community in Hall was the Provincial House of the former Province of Tyrol-Vorarlberg. Today, eight sisters live in the community. The superior and three sisters look after the elderly or sick sisters in the neighbouring St. Elisabeth nursing home. These four elderly sisters provide a wide range of services for the community and the convent complex, such as looking after the sacristy, flower arranging, gardening and catering for guests in the retreat house. One sister is known for the ointments she makes herself, such as aloe vera or comfrey.

Convent Hall is a popular meeting place where people of all generations come together. One part of the convent premises accommodates the retreat house, which is known far and wide and is often booked for retreats, conferences and individual events. Several people live in several individual flats as part of the St Joseph network of assisted living flats. The beautiful and large garden is used for a variety of purposes. Guests at the retreat house like totake a walk here. People from the neighbourhood have rented a small section of the garden and plant flowers and vegetables for themselves.
