Community Olomouc

The Community in Olomouc was founded in 1968. During the totalitarian regime, our sisters were able to serve here by managing the bishops’ households. The sisters who lived in secret found support and a sense of belonging within the community. With the fall of Communism, the sisters’ work at the Archbishop’s Residence became easier.

At present, the community consists of seven sisters and one candidate. All the sisters serve at the Archbishop’s Residence, where they take care of shopping, cleaning, gardening, cooking, setting the tables, caring for the sick priests, and fostering a welcoming atmosphere. Sr. Leona works in the Archbishop’s office as a secretary. After completing her medical studies last year, the candidate Michaela joined the community in Olomouc and began working as a doctor. She currently serves in the internal medicine department of the military hospital in Olomouc.

The sisters’ simple and dedicated way of life truly reflects Franciscan hospitality.
