Bijapur is the newest community of the South Province, started in 2018. Through Jesuits our sisters reached in Bijapur and under their guidance our pioneer Sisters, Sr. Valentine D’Souza, Sr. Shaila Rosario and Sr. Sharol Saldanha visited and surveyed many villages. Mentally challenged and deaf and dumb children are neglected by the families, and there is not a single school for these types of children. So there is a possibility for starting a school for mentally challenged children. At present sisters are living in a rented house, in the midst of poor people. The owner of this house is a widow; see the photo with the family. Monkeys also visit the sisters!
