Visits to Province Italy, Vicarate Taiwan and House USA
The time between 11.02. and 05.03. was filled with visits to the Vicariate of Taiwan, the Province of Italy and Merrill USA.
Sr. Marie-Marthe Schönenberger, Superior General set off for Italy already on 11 February, first to South Tyrol and then to Besozzo to the Provincial House. The Sisters were very happy to welcome the new Superior General. Sr. Marie-Marthe took a lot of time to talk and to get to know the situation in Merano and Lombardy.
On 18 February Sr. Gabriele Schachinger, Assistant General, started her long journey to the Vicariate Taiwan. The time of the visit to Taiwan was marked by: Meeting, listening, sharing and participating in the everyday life of the Sisters. The journey led first to Taitung-Malän to the Vicariate Centre. In great anticipation the Sisters in Taiwan prepared for the visit and warmly welcomed Sr. Gabriele.
On 17 February, the previous day, Sr. Dorothee Halbach, General Councillor, went in the opposite direction to the USA to the house in Merrill, Wisconsin. 100 years ago, in 1923, the first Sisters travelled to Merrill and since then have had a beneficial effect in the school, in nursing and pastoral care. In October 2021, our Sisters completed the structural change from a ‘Province’ to a ‘House’, which had been prepared for many years, and are accompanied and supported in their concerns by the General Leadership.
