The installation of the new Superior General, Sr. Marie-Marthe Schönenberger from the Province of Switzerland took place on 08.01.2023, on the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord, during the Eucharistic celebration. Already on 18.08.2022 the election for the new General Leadership took place during the General Chapter in Altötting, Germany.
Sr. Marija Brizar, previous Superior General, handed over her office to Sr. Marie-Marthe with a lighted candle and the key of the old Motherhouse.
After 14 years, once again a Sister from Switzerland will take over the leadership of the Congregation for the next six years. Sr. Marie-Marthe was already Provincial Superior from 2008 – 2017 and brings a lot of leadership experience and competence to the new task. She is supported internationally in her mission as Superior General by her assistant, Sr. Gabriele Schachinger from the Province Europa Mitte and five other councillors, Sr. Sheeja Kolacherril, South Province India, Sr. Dorothee Halbach, Province Baden-Württemberg, Sr. Pratima Minj, North East India Province, Sr. Rahela Lacković, Province Croatia and Sr. Roseline Kujur, Central Province India.
Every beginning is connected with changes in many ways, so the community in the Generalate is also changing.
The new leadership will take over their diverse international work with the handover of office that has now taken place.
