These communities are not far apart from each other and the situation is similar in both places. Both are migrant-villages with persons from Bangladesh and of different tribes. Most of them are illiterate, landless and day laborers. For lack of money and food stuff, most of them can afford only two meals per day. It is almost impossible for them to send their children to school. Consequences of this, among others, are child marriage and many forms of Superstition.
For the last 30 years, the sisters have worked to make schooling possible for the children. The boarding school is very important. Sundays are for catechesis of the children and other church activities. There is a school with boarding in both these villages. Batsankor was founded in 1985. The sisters are working in Mahinagar since 1980 in the diocesan school.
