Construction of St. Josef Hospital began in 1929, and in 1994 it was renamed as St. Josef Nursing Home.

As the building no longer met today’s requirements for a modern retirement home, a new building was constructed and opened in November 2023. It offers 78 single rooms with view of the lake or the Mythen mountains.

St. Josef is currently home to about 50 sisters, 5 brothers from the Holy Family community and a few residents.

They are all cared for by over 65 staff members. But there is also a wonderful group of sisters from other communities on the hill who look after their fellow sisters at St. Josef – praying with them, playing with them, helping them with their meals, talking to them, going for walks with them, accompanying them to the chapel or the dining room…

Four sisters make up the support team. They accompany their fellow sisters every day and support them in their various needs.
