The Holy Cross Sisters were among the many volunteers who came to help out. They were faced with malnutrition diseases such as tuberculosis and cholera. So the sisters built a health centre and already from January 1977 a community was established in Bhagwanpur. After that they started a school with 12 children under a tree and today there are 530 students. About 80 children come for Non-formal school.<\/p>\n<p>The health center has evolved into a small hospital and is known as &#8220;Sampkatti\u201c- (snake bite hospital). Very many people\u2019s lives are saved here. In the period from April 2014 to March 2015 more than 9200 snake bites were treated successfully &#8211; unfortunately some people come late for treatment.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 12pt;\">\u00a0<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_gallery type=&#8221;image_grid&#8221; images=&#8221;1956,1957,1958,1959,1960,1961,1962,1963,1964&#8243;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This area was badly affected by the flood in 1975.
