On 22 March, the city was shaken by a violent earthquake. Many people became homeless within a few minutes. The sisters in Zagreb were also affected. Thirty sick and frail sisters had to be brought to the provincial house at \u0110akovo.[\/vc_column_text][vc_gallery type=&#8221;image_grid&#8221; images=&#8221;10182,10184,10186&#8243;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Since the earthquake the younger sisters have been volunteering with Caritas in Zagreb. Together with many volunteers they help to provide warm meals, aid packages and medicine to hundreds of poor and lonely people. Some sisters in \u0110akovo together with volunteers from the Red Cross are involved in the distribution of medicine, food and hygiene products to lonely elderly and sick people.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_gallery type=&#8221;image_grid&#8221; images=&#8221;10203,10205,10207,10217,10209,10213&#8243;][vc_column_text]Sisters who work in the hospitals and nursing homes have community services that require a lot of energy. The sisters and postulants in \u0110akovo, as well as the sisters in Bar, participated in the production and distribution of the protective masks.
