The convent in Laxenburg was expanded through the purchase of a building at Schlossplatz 15 and by making additional buildings. The purchase contract was concluded on 31 August 1912.
The new Province of Vienna-Lower Austria was founded on 1 March 1913. From 2008 to 2012, the premises underwent a general renovation.
The former Schwarzenberg Palace was converted into 13 apartments for service-based living and Haus Elisabeth was expanded from 96 places to 139. There are now a total of 19 residential service facility for service-based living.
The St. Josef nursing department is part of Alten- und Pflegeheim GmbH.
