The Villa Erica community was founded in 1933. In the early years, the sisters ran a residential home for sisters and women in need of rest and recuperation. From 1943 onwards, the focus shifted to a domestic science school, which later developed into a language and business school. This remained in operation until 2015.
Today, the rooms of the former boarding school are rented out to women looking for affordable accommodation. Two sisters currently live in the community and take care of the rentals. They are also involved in the parish and teach German.
