There are 31 sisters living in the community of St. Klara. They are involved in various activities on the convent hill, including caring for elderly and sick sisters and people from outside, working in the healthcare centre – St. Josef, drawing therapy, various other activities and leading the sisters’ choir and liturgy.
The sisters are deeply grateful and happy for the years of active life they have experienced. Most of them have worked in nursing. Today, they focus more on prayer, mutual support and assistance. They are aware of their strengths and limitations that come with ageing. They are happy to be part of the congregation and remain connected to sisters worldwide through the prayer network.
During the visitation, we celebrated the Eucharistic service in thanksgiving for the 170 years since the arrival of the sisters from Chur to Ingenbohl. In memory of this first evening in Ingenbohl on 5 March 1856, we sisters ate the same food as 170 years ago: rice porridge and plum compote.
