Holy Cross Convent, Gothgaon

Holy Cross Convent Gothgaon was established in 1972 and is located six kilometres away from Mahuadanr. As Mahuadanr parish expanded its ministries through collaboration with various religious congregations, our sisters volunteered to make regular visits to Gothgaon. Their aim was to understand the local situation and explore ways to promote development, especially through women’s education.

The sisters devoted themselves generously to serving the poor and illiterate tribal communities in and around Gothgaon. They worked diligently to strengthen the mission through teaching and pastoral activities. Today, our sisters run a primary school up to the 8th grade, with nearly 800 students. The hostel accommodates 80 children. The sisters actively participate in parish activities and make regular family visits. One sister collaborates with the diocese and serves in their school in Gothgaon. Our sisters enjoy having fresh vegetables, fruits, and grains from their own farm and garden.
