On Sunday, Sr Marie-Marthe, Sr Gabriele and Sr Roseline had the opportunity to visit the place where the first Holy Cross Sisters arrived in Chuhri, where you can still see the remains of the former convent, the well, which no longer works, and the office with an original fan.
We then visited the pioneer sisters’ graves, which are located in the parish cemetery right next to the premises of St. Joseph’s School in Bettiah. It was touching to stand in front of the graves of the pioneer sisters here in Bettiah and thank them for their courage and commitment.
Before lunch, there was a meeting at St. Teresa’s Convent in Bettiah with the Bishop Rt. Rev. Peter Sebastian Goveas, who is very close to the Holy Cross Sisters.
Many sisters from the 5 communities of Bettiah also joined us for the lunch. Of course, all this had to be captured in photographs.
